Become a Cybersecurity Professional

We help aspiring cybersecurity experts become competent professionals.

This program is designed to provide students with advanced technical and managerial knowledge of cybersecurity, preparing them for senior technical and leadership roles in the field. Coursework includes a balanced approach, combining critical analysis of cybersecurity theory with hands-on education for essential applied cybersecurity techniques and tools.

Applications are now being accepted for Fall 2017 for the part-time program with courses delivered at the UVU Orem campus. The application is open until the program is full.

Program Options

This dynamic, two year part-time program offers required courses in the areas of cybersecurity operations, law, ethics, and privacy in cybersecurity, penetration testing and vulnerability assessment, advanced network defense and countermeasures, and cybersecurity management. The program offers elective tracks in advanced network forensics, reverse engineering and malware analysis, secure coding, and web and mobile application security.


Application Process

To apply for the part-time MSC program:

  1. Schedule appointment to meet with MSC Admissions staff to review admissions requirements.
  2. Complete online application at www.uvu.edu/msc, which includes uploading responses for one essay question.
  3. Provide three letters of recommendation. Name and email address of professional references will be entered in the application.
  4. Send all official university transcripts. If requesting electronic copy from your university, official transcripts must be emailed to etranscriptr@uvu.edu.
  5. Upload current resume that includes educational background and professional work experience.
  6. Pay $45 application fee. (The application and application fee differ for International Students).
