The Fall 2024 application is now open!

The application system opened on Novemeber 1, 2023 for students wishing to start in the Fall 2024 semester.  Please note that the program uses a rolling admissions process where outstanding candidates can be admitted before the deadline. Candidates are encouraged to enroll early rather than later as once we have filled our enrollment cap the admission process will stop.

Program Options

This dynamic, two year part-time program offers required courses in the areas of cybersecurity operations, law, ethics, and privacy in cybersecurity, penetration testing and vulnerability assessment, advanced network defense and countermeasures, and cybersecurity risk management.

The program offers elective tracks in advanced network forensics, reverse engineering and malware analysis, secure coding, and web and mobile application security.

Please note that this is not an online degree. Courses are offered in the evenings at the Lehi Campus of UVU (Thanksgiving Point).

Requirements

To apply to the part-time Master of Science in Cybersecurity program:

  1. Schedule an appointment to meet with MSC academic advisor to review admissions requirements.  [ Academic Advising
  2. Bachelor's degree with a GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale from an accredited institution in one of the following fields: 1) Information Systems, 2) Information Security, 3) Information Technology, or 4) Computer Science.  Applicants who have bachelor's degrees in other fields may be admitted to the program if they have at least two years of technology or cybersecurity industry experience and have completed undergraduate courses in data communication, programming, and server administration with a grade of C+ or better. These applications will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
  3. Complete the online application, which includes uploading responses for one essay question.
  4. Provide two letters of recommendation. Name and email address of professional references will be entered in the application.
  5. Send all official university transcripts. If requesting electronic copy from your university, official transcripts must be emailed to [email protected].
  6. Upload current resume that includes educational background and professional work experience.
  7. Pay application fee. (We are currently unable to accept international applications).
