*Freshman/Transfer Student Scholarship Steps

1. Meet Basic Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Eligible Non-Citizen.
  • Students enrolled in English as a Second Language (ESL), Global Aviation, or Off-Budget programs are not eligible.
  • Cannot have a previous bachelor's degree.

2. Be Admitted to Utah Valley University:

  • To meet the February 1st deadline, and to access the online Scholarship Application, complete the Admissions Application at least three weeks before the February 1st deadline.

3. Send Official Transcripts to the Office of Admissions:

Official Transcripts must arrive to the Office of Admissions in one of the following ways:

  • Mailed directly from your high school or college in an officially sealed envelope to:

    Attention: Office of Admissions, MS 106
    800 W University Parkway
    Orem, UT 84058-6703
  • Emailed directly from your high school or college to the Office of Admissions at admissions@uvu.edu
  • Faxed directly from your high school or college, including the school’s fax cover sheet, to (801) 863-8913
  • Hand delivered in an officially sealed envelope to the Office of Admissions

4. Complete the online Scholarship Application:

You must be admitted and have a UV ID number to access the online Scholarship Application. To apply:

  • Select the “Apply Now” button on this page.
  • Log into UVLink using your UV ID and password.
  • Answer the question which determines if you are a freshman or transfer student.
  • Enter your cell phone information.
  • Click on Start Application.
  • Part 1: Check all of the circumstances that apply to you. You may be required to provide an essay or additional information.
  • Part 2: Check the scholarships you are interested in being considered for. You may be required to provide an essay or additional information.
  • Certify that you have read all information.
  • Click on Submit.
  • A confirmation page will be provided and an email will be sent to your UVLink email.
5. Need Based (If Applicable):

Complete the “FAFSA4caster” located within the Department of Education’s website: www.fafsa.ed.gov. Print the results, include your UV ID, and upload to the Financial Aid and
Scholarships Office.

To upload: Log in to UVLink, Click on the Student Tab, Financial Aid Folder (under Banner Services), Upload Financial Aid Forms, Select the Appropriate Aid Year, Browse for the Document to be Uploaded, Submit.

6. Check Your UVLink Email for Award Notification:

All award notifications will be sent to your UVLink email beginning July 1st. Denial emails for the Online Scholarship application will also be sent at this time. Be sure to check your email on a regular basis. 

7. Accept Your Award:

To accept your award: Log in to UVLink, Click on the Student Tab, Financial Aid Folder (under Banner Services), View Scholarship Awards, Select the appropriate Aid Year, Confirm
Citizenship, Read and Accept your Award Contract. 

8. What to do When You Plan on Leaving School for an Extended Amount of Time:

If you are planning on taking an extended leave from Utah Valley University and you have been awarded a scholarship, you must:

9. Review and Pay Your Balance After Your Aid Disburses (Usually Ten Days Before School Starts):

  • Log in to UVLink
  • Go to the Student tab
  • Click on Financing and Paying for Your Education
  • Click on Tuition Payment Plus
Continuing Student Scholarship Steps

 2. Complete the online Scholarship Application:

  • Select the “Apply Now” button on this page.
  • Log into UVLink using your UV ID and password.
  • Enter your cell phone information.
  • Click on Start Application.
  • Part 1: Check all of the circumstances that apply to you. You may be required to provide an essay or additional information.

3. If You Are a Current Recipient of the Presidential or Exemplary Scholarship:

You will automatically be considered for the same scholarship if you have met the Cumulative GPA and credit hour criteria for your scholarship. If renewed, award notification will be sent to your UVLink email by June 1st. You must read and accept your award contract by the specified date on your award contract (Step 7).

If you would like to be considered for Privately funded or Housing scholarships within the Honor or Wolverine Ambassadors Program, you must complete the online Scholarship
Application.

4. If You Are a Current Recipient of the Outstanding Scholarship:

As stated on your award contract, you are not guaranteed to be awarded this scholarship in future semesters. At the end of Spring semester, you must have attended Fall and Spring
semester, have a 3.5 Cumulative GPA, and have completed the required credit hours. A score will be calculated based on your Cumulative GPA and completed credit hours at Utah Valley University. Students with the highest scores will be awarded until funding is no longer available. Award notification will be sent to your UVLink email by June 1st if you are awarded.
 
All students who are eligible but were not awarded due to funding availability will be placed on a waiting list and will receive an email notification to their UVLink email by June1st. The waitlist is dissolved on January 16th, when the application for the subsequent Academic Year begins.

You must read and accept your award contract by the specified date on your award contract (Step 7).
