Wendy Simmerman is a nationally recognized workforce and education leader with more than two decades of experience building systems, programs, and partnerships that connect students to opportunity. As Senior Director of Workforce Alignment at Utah Valley University, she leads one of Utah’s most comprehensive workforce readiness efforts, encompassing both internal coordination of workforce initiatives across campus and alignment with external stakeholders in K12 education, industry, government, and community partnerships. Her direct supervisory portfolio includes Career & Technical Education, Credit-for-Prior Learning, industry credentialing, regional pathways, program advisory boards, articulations, extended campus programming, and workforce development.

Marcee Gundry is the President and CEO of the Point of the Mountain Chamber of Commerce and brings more than 25 years of leadership experience across Fortune 500 companies, entrepreneurship, consulting, and community leadership. Throughout her career, she has led teams of more than 300 people, owned and operated a small business for 10 years, and helped organizations build stronger teams, improve communication, and turn ideas into action. Marcee holds a master’s degree in Management and Leadership and is known for her practical, engaging approach to leadership, especially when creating meetings and conversations that are actually worth people’s time.

Dr. Alaa Alsarhan is Director of Academic Analytics at Utah Valley University and a data scientist specializing in higher education assessment, learning outcomes, and AI-driven institutional improvement. He holds a Ph.D. in Educational Inquiry, Measurement, and Evaluation. His work integrates advanced statistical modeling, predictive analytics, and large language models to strengthen program alignment, accreditation processes, and student success initiatives. A U.S. patent holder and national presenter, Dr. Alsarhan is a Founding Member of the GenAI in Higher Education Assessment Community of Practice and an NWCCU Fellow in Data Equity and Mission Fulfillment.

Tammy Clark received her B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, and her Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Rochester. She began her career in drug discovery at GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals before transitioning to higher education, where she has held faculty and academic leadership roles. Most recently, she served as Associate Provost for Academic Innovation at Utah Valley University, leading efforts to expand engaged learning and help students connect their education with meaningful career pathways. She has since returned to the classroom as a Professor of Chemistry at UVU, where she continues to focus on creating learning experiences that help students explore their interests, build confidence, and prepare for their futures.

Dr. Matt North has been teaching in the Information Systems & Technology department at UVU since 2015, after having taught for more than a decade at colleges in Pennsylvania, Argentina, and Idaho. Prior to his career in academe, Dr. North was a software engineer at eBay. His teaching expertise is in database design, development and administration, data analytics, and cyberlaw. Research areas include data analytics, cyberlaw, and technology pedagogy. He is the author of two books: Data Mining for the Masses, and Life Lessons and Leadership, as well as numerous journal papers, articles, book chapters, and conference presentations.
