Captain Blair Liemandt began her degree at Utah Valley University in 2002 and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree with a Professional Pilot emphasis in 2005. From 2005 to 2007 she worked as a Certified Flight Instructor at First Flight Aviation in Las Vegas, Nevada. One of her students hired her to fly his Piper Cherokee 6 for his company, Story Airways from 2007-2009. She also flew a Citation 525 as a contract pilot for Southwest Gas in Las Vegas from 2006-2011.

In 2011, Blair was hired by SkyWest Airlines as a First Officer on the Canadair Regional Jet. Five years later, she upgraded to Captain.

Blair came back to visit UVU on July 21, 2016. We had the opportunity to sit down and discuss her career journey in aviation and why she is passionate about flying. We are always pleased to hear of the successes of our graduates. Congratulations, Blair!
