Industry Advisory Board

The mission of the College of Engineering & Technology Advisory Board at Utah Valley University is to provide consultation on the growing needs in technology, computing, and engineering in the Utah Valley region, and to support causes that lead to excellence in education in preparing a highly qualified workforce to address the needs.

The College of Engineering &Technology Advisory Board at Utah Valley University has identified the following goals and objectives to meet its mission.

  1. To advocate for strong technology, computing, and engineering programs through direct dialogue with legislatures, Utah System of Higher Education, Utah Division of Occupational & Professional Licensing, and UVU Administration to ensure adequate seed and operating funding.
  2. To review CET curricula in light of changes happening in technology, computing, and engineering and to provide feedback to the college.
  3. To provide support, for continuing applied experience, to faculty through summer/seasonal employment (consulting) and through fellowships.
  4. To provide support for applied experience for students through mentoring, internship, and summer/seasonal employment.
  5. To provide support for recruitment and retention of students.
  6. To provide support for promotion of the technology, computing, and engineering programs to K-12.

2024 Industry Advisory Board Members

Eric Quigley, for 25 years, Eric has developed healthcare technology solutions, earning the trust of major systems and providers. As President of Mercury Global Care, he leverages his extensive experience to enhance program efficiencies and provider revenues.

Richie Stapler, Co-Founder of @pura, the leading tech company in the $72B fragrance industry, developed the world's first smart diffuser with partners like @disney, @anthropologie, and @kennethcole. He earned a full-ride track and field scholarship to UVU.

Martin Frey, a zealous businessman and tenacious adventurer, he became the first person to climb the Seven Summits and sail the Seven Seas in 2016. Martin is a successful business leader, active angel investor and was the Managing Director, Governor's Office of Economic Development for Utah.

Barclay Burns, a leader in educational technology, founded Learning.com and holds PhDs in Instructional Psychology from BYU and strategic management from Cambridge. Passionate about student success, he is also a Fellow at Cambridge.
