Outstanding Grad: Emily Bryce

"There is a sense of liberation in having the freedom to ask questions, challenge ideas, and construct your own arguments from a collaborative effort."

Emily Bryce

Philosophy & Humanities Outstanding Graduate 2018

'Tis the season for recognizing the accomplishments of our students, faculty, and staff in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. We're thrilled to present Emily Bryce as the Outstanding Graduate in the Philosophy and Humanities Department.

A graduate of Boulder Creek High School in Phoenix, Arizona, Emily Bryce has been the recipient of the UVU Honors Scholarship twice (2011 and 2014). She plans to continue her philosophy studies in graduate school. She says the best part of her UVU experience has been working with students and professors in both the philosophy department and the honors program. She says her love of learning has been ignited, thanks to this experience. “There is a sense of liberation in having the freedom to ask questions, challenge ideas, and construct your own arguments from a collaborative effort,” she says. “They have truly enriched my life, and as a result, I am fortunate to say that my world view has changed and I will never be the same. My professors and fellow students have helped me become a better writer, oral presenter, and critical thinker. To these departments and people, I will always give my sincerest respect and gratitude.” Bryce enjoys collecting books and has a passion for Muay Thai fighting.

Congratulations, Emily!
