Echelon Biosciences is a biologic reagents company based in Salt Lake City, UT. We are seeking applications for our Internship Program from qualified and highly motivated university students that are interested in pursuing a career in biotechnology and related fields.

Our program’s goal is to encourage young, aspiring scientists by providing them with a unique environment within the biotechnology sector for project-based training.

Successful applicants will be assigned a project mentor based on the applicant’s stated goals and knowledge base.


Successful applicants may be asked to assist with a variety of activities ranging from basic product quality procedures to product research and development.

  • General application guidelines are as follows:
  • Applicants must be enrolled in a relevant degree program related to the Biological Sciences or Chemistry
  • Applicants must be able to commit to a specified workload of at least half-time*
  • Must have completed science course pre-requisites and be enrolled in upper-level courses; minimum two years of completed course work in total.
  • Applicants will also be expected to have good organizational and time management skills


*Time commitment is flexible based on the credit requirements for an applicant’s course and/or university, though the suggested minimum for this requirement would be 15 hrs./week for 12 weeks.

Start dates for individual internships are also flexible based on the applicant’s university schedule.

We are looking for a talented and highly analytical cosmetic chemist and lab assistant to join our growing team in the manufacture of skin care products. As the Lab Assistant, you will work with our senior staff to process samples, perform tests, and record and analyze results. The successful candidate will have basic knowledge of lab procedures and understand the importance of maintaining a clean workspace by following all lab regulations for health and safety. In addition to having strong attention to detail, you must be responsible and demonstrate excellent math and communication skills. Lab Assistant Responsibilities:

• Prepare samples for testing using various laboratory equipment.
• Maintain all laboratory records.
• Comply with the correct procedures, policies, and health and safety regulations.
• Conduct laboratory tests, analyze results, and document your findings.
• Stay informed with the latest industry trends, techniques, and best practices.
• Document all activities, results, and report back to management.
• Clean and sterilize equipment and work area.
• Collect and prepare research and information needed for studies.
• Classify and label samples.
• Undertake basic administrative tasks such as filing and answering telephones.


Lab Assistant Requirements:

• Working towards a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, engineering or relevant field.
• Good understanding of laboratory information systems and automated laboratory equipment.
• A critical thinker with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Outstanding analytical abilities.
• Chemistry and Math skills are preferred

This is a paid internship, up to $15/hr based on experience.
