DGM Alumni Stories: Jason Knoell

Jason Knoell  - Real world education that rocks by Davis School District

Jason Knoell has parlayed his hands-on learning experiences at UVU into teaching at both Layton and Viewmont high schools. His efforts were documented by the Provo Daily Herald and highlighted by UVU's College of Engineering and Technology. Knoell has done so well that the school district tapped him to run the audio program in collaboration with the video and post-production teams at their new Career and Technical Education (CTE) building, the Catalyst Center. The center "is a collaborative space for students to do project-based learning in Davis County," according to Knoell. He also notes that the "high school students will graduate with a portfolio of projects for real-world business and other clients." Accordingly, the audio students at the Catalyst Center will have the opportunity to work in collaborative environments with video, medical tech/pharmacy, unmanned aerial, culinary arts, IT, and computer science students, just to name a few.
