Biography

I am a Professor of Exercise Science and currently serving as the Department Chair for Exercise Science & Outdoor Recreation at Utah Valley University. My main research interests involve endurance physiology and applied human performance. I have been involved with several field studies investigating ultra-endurance physiology in locations that include Utah, Oregon, Arizona, and Spain. I also work closely with several athletic teams here at UVU monitoring aspects such as body composition and nutrition, as well as performance variables including lactate threshold and maximal aerobic capacity. In addition to my research and applied performance exploits, I love teaching Advanced Sports Nutrition (EXSC 4500), staying up to date on the latest sports nutrition research, and getting students involved with research projects both inside and outside of the lab.
