Lyndsey Vader is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Dance at Utah Valley University. Vader holds an M.F.A. in Dance from SUNY Brockport and a Ph.D. in Dance Studies from The Ohio State University, where she collaborated on the curricular design for the Race, Equity, and Social Justice in the Arts Certificate Program. Her research examines the use of audience participation in immersive performances that imagine new ways of being together during these politically divisive times. Vader has presented her research at national and regional conferences, with reoccurring participation in the Dance Studies Association annual conferences. Her writing has appeared in Dance Chronicle and was commissioned by Jacob's Pillow Dance Interactive essay series. Vader has also served as General Manager and Director of Education and Public Programming for Andrea Miller's critically acclaimed Gallim Dance (NY). As an integral part of the administrative team, she co-developed and managed its National Endowment for the Arts award-winning education and community programming.

The Utah Dance Education Organization was created in 2000 as a state affiliate of the National Dance Education Organization. UDEO has members from all sectors of dance education_ K-12, University/College, Private Studios, Professional Companies, Community Groups, Independent Artists, and Students; and from most dance genres_ Modern, Ballet, Folk, and Jazz. Every month, the organization honors a recipient with an "Outstanding Work in Dance Education" award. UDEO members may anonymously nominate dance educators to receive the honor, which I was awarded in October 2023.
