Dr. Charlotte Poulton

Biography

Charlotte Poulton is an Assistant Professor of Art History at Utah Valley University. She obtained her B.A. in European Studies from Brigham Young University, her M.A. degree in Art History from Brigham Young University, and her Ph.D. in the History of Art from the University of York, England. She worked as the Assistant Curator of Works on paper at the BYU Museum of Art before assuming teaching positions at both BYU and UVU. She has taught a wide range of art history and humanities courses - survey courses, Italian Renaissance Art, Baroque Art, Nineteenth-Century Art, and seminars on the Medici in Renaissance Florence, Music and Art, and Women and Art. She specializes in correspondences between music and painting and has presented her research at national and international conferences. Charlotte currently serves as Area Coordinator for Art History in the Department of Art and Design.
