Biography
Bryson began his law enforcement career in 2010 with the Pleasant Grove Police Department. Throughout his career, he has served in a variety of assignments, including patrol officer, patrol corporal, school resource officer, criminal investigator, and investigations supervisor. His professional experience encompasses major criminal investigations, internet crimes against children, digital forensics, cybercrime, and crisis intervention.
In addition to his investigative and supervisory responsibilities, Bryson has extensive experience working with the Utah Attorney General's Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, investigating technology-facilitated crimes involving the exploitation of children. He also serves as a member of the Utah County Crisis and Hostage Negotiation Team, where he applies specialized training in crisis communication, de-escalation, and high-risk incident resolution. His career has involved extensive collaboration with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, as well as multidisciplinary teams dedicated to victim advocacy and public safety.
Bryson earned his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement from Utah Valley University in 2015, having previously attended the University of Utah. As a graduate of UVU's Criminal Justice program, he is proud to return to his alma mater as an educator. Drawing upon his extensive field experience, specialized training, and leadership background, Bryson strives to bridge the gap between academic instruction and practical law enforcement. His teaching emphasizes critical thinking, ethical decision-making, and the application of criminal justice principles to real-world situations, preparing students for the complexities and responsibilities of careers in the criminal justice profession.
