Heather Tolen

Biography

Heather Tolen is a two-time graduate of Brigham Young University, receiving her B.A. in English Literature in 1992 and her M.A. in English Literature in 2008. As an undergraduate, she wrote an honor's thesis titled "Imagery Shifts in the Poetry of Gerard Manley Hopkins." As a graduate student, she turned her attention toward Irish Victorian literature with a dual emphasis in technical writing. Her master's thesis was titled, "Resurrecting Speranza: Lady Jane Wilde as the Celtic Sovereignty."

She taught as a graduate student at Brigham Young University (Provo) and was the recipient of the "Ed M. and Minnie Berry Rowe Award for Excellence in Teaching." Since graduation she has taught at Kaplan University, Brigham Young University (Idaho), and Utah Valley University, proudly joining the Wolverine community in 2009.
