Dr. Laura Ricaldi

Biography

I received my BBA in accounting from Texas Tech University. I worked for the Bank of New York in New York City as a mutual fund accountant for a year before moving back to Texas. Once in Texas, I completed my MBA with an emphasis in Management & Leadership in 2008.

In my last semester of my MBA coursework, I took a personal finance class, and it changed my life and career! I decided I wanted to help people reach their financial goals. The best way to have the impact I wanted was to work on a PhD so I could teach others how to help families and clients. I began the PhD in Personal Financial Planning at Texas Tech University and graduated before moving to Utah.

I have several years of teaching experience, both online and face-to-face. I enjoy UVU's engaged learning mission and try to bring as much to the classroom as possible. I love being a part of UVU's nationally recognized Personal Financial Planning program. A part of the program that I enjoy is to mentor and coach students who are getting ready for the CFP® Exam. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family (especially glamping in our RV), hand embroidering, and reading.
