Biography
Hello, my name is Jason Clark. I'm excited to join the faculty here at Utah Valley University! I have been an educator for nearly 20 years, teaching American History at both the high school and college levels. I'm originally from Las Vegas, Nevada and a proud Runnin' Rebel. I graduated with a Masters of Arts in History from of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. I also hold minors in Women's History and Sports History. Before choosing a career in academia, I worked in the Las Vegas Nightlife Industry as a DJ for over 10 years. During that time I had the opportunity to travel to more than 25 countries, which drastically changed many of the perspectives and beliefs I held regarding myself, my country, and our relationship within a global framework.
Over the course of my academic career, I've developed a profound respect and appreciation for the diversity of America's people, ideas, perspectives, and contributions that helped shape the American experience. My objective as an educator is to help my students obtain a similar appreciation and to ultimately realize the importance of our nation's past as a means to understand and address the issues facing our country today.
