Biography

My background is in Clinical Psychology, having obtained an MS from Palo Alto University (PAU) and an MA from Pepperdine University. While at PAU I pursued research in utilizing technology in treating mental health among youth, and breaking down barriers to treatment. I pursued a Ph.D. at PAU and am all but dissertation (ABD). My clinical experience was primarily in community mental health settings working with clients as young as six and into their 70's, and included a wide range of mental health challenges like trichotillomania, suicidality, and hoarding disorder. I conducted integrated assessment batteries and provided therapy.

Following my first Masters' from Pepperdine I began teaching Ethical Decision Making for the department of Social Work at Mount Saint Mary's University in LA, where I taught online for nearly six years while attending PAU.

One of my students, Annette Cabrerra, in my Psy 2300 class, asked me to help her with a Global Initiative project she needed to complete as a Global Student Leader. We developed an event to highlight global mental health. The event had a guest speaker, Becky Pickle, CEO of Huntsman Mental Health Foundation. I presented on global expressions of kindness. I was given an award as a Global Fellow on April 18th, 2025.
