UVU Office of Teaching & Learning - May 29, 2026

A student who has taken multiple courses with me expressed appreciation for my enthusiasm, knowledge, and dedication as an educator by submitting a letter of appreciation through UVU's OTL Thank a Teacher program. The student shared that my teaching helped them better understand both the current criminal justice system and their own aspirations for a future career in the field. Most meaningful was the student's recognition that my encouragement and support inspired and motivated him to pursue his professional goals.

This feedback is a meaningful reflection of my impact as an educator beyond the classroom. It demonstrates the value of faculty mentorship, encouragement, and student engagement in helping students develop confidence and direction in their careers. It also reflects positively on Utah Valley University by demonstrating how dedicated faculty are able to contribute to student success, professional preparation, and to be able to make meaningful connections between academic learning and future career aspirations.
