Biography

Brenda Burr graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma with a BA in English Education and Brigham Young University with a master’s and doctorate in Educational Leadership. Her experience in education has taken her from the big city of Las Vegas to the Heartland in Oklahoma City, to the rural hills of the Missouri Ozarks, and on to the Rocky Mountains of Utah. She taught high school and junior high English for 13 years before becoming an administrator. She was the assistant principal at Salem Hills High, opening that brand new high school, the principal at Sage Creek Elementary School, starting a Chinese Immersion program, principal at Diamond Fork Junior High, principal Diamond Fork Middle School, making her admin experience span K-12! After a very short retirement, she became the principal of Primary Children’s Hospital with a teaching staff serving patients at both the Salt Lake and Lehi campus. She has now joined UVU as a faculty member in Teacher Education. She is married to Dr. Kevin Burr and has four married children and eight grandchildren.
