Dr. Bing Han is an Assistant Professor of Elementary Education at Utah Valley University and a LETRS-certified educator. Her instructional focus includes elementary literacy instruction and applied statistics for education. She brings a global perspective shaped by academic training in both the United States and China. She holds K–12 teaching credentials in both countries and has taught at the elementary, secondary, and university levels.
With an interdisciplinary background that bridges literacy education, linguistics, and educational psychology, Dr. Han's research explores the cognitive and linguistic processes that shape language and literacy development in monolingual and bilingual learners. She also studies preservice and in-service teachers' knowledge of literacy instruction. Dr. Han maintains an active scholarly agenda, publishing and presenting her work at national and international conferences. In addition, she contributes to the field as a peer reviewer for leading journals and conferences, including Reading and Writing, Learning and Individual Differences, Contemporary Educational Psychology, and AERA.
In service, she serves on the School of Education's Literacy Committee, Utah Valley University's AI in Education Committee with UNESCO, and the university's graduate council.
