Dr. Bing Han is an Assistant Professor of Elementary Education at Utah Valley University and a LETRS-certified educator. Her instructional focus is on elementary literacy instruction.
Dr. Han brings a global perspective to education. Over the course of a decade, she completed her bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees while dividing her academic training between the United States and China. She holds K-12 teaching credentials in both countries and has taught in a wide range of educational settings, from elementary schools to universities.
With an interdisciplinary background that bridges literacy education, linguistics, and educational psychology, Dr. Han's research explores the cognitive and linguistic processes that shape language and literacy development in monolingual and bilingual learners. She also studies preservice and in-service teachers' knowledge of literacy instruction. Dr. Han maintains an active scholarly agenda, publishing and presenting her work at national and international conferences. In addition, she contributes to the field as a peer reviewer for leading journals, including Reading and Writing, Learning and Individual Differences, and Contemporary Educational Psychology.
In service, she serves on the School of Education's Literacy Committee, Utah Valley University's AI in Education Committee with UNESCO, and the university's Institutional Review Board (IRB).
