Global Spotlight Event

Participating as a presenter in the World Autism Day Global Spotlight Event provided a valuable opportunity to advance global awareness and understanding of autism while showcasing Utah Valley University's commitment to international engagement. Together with a UVU student, I presented on autism in selected African countries and Brazil, highlighting diverse cultural perspectives, educational practices, and challenges in supporting individuals with autism. This collaborative presentation broadened the student's global and intercultural awareness by providing firsthand experience in international scholarship and cross-cultural dialogue. The experience also enriched my teaching and professional development by strengthening my global partnerships, incorporating international perspectives into my courses, and preparing future educators to serve learners effectively in culturally and linguistically diverse educational settings.

Foundations of Inclusion Award

The Foundations of Inclusion Award recognizes faculty and staff who have demonstrated a commitment to creating equitable, inclusive, and culturally responsive learning environments through the successful completion of Utah Valley University's Foundations of Inclusion workshop series. Participants engage in professional learning focused on topics such as anti-racist pedagogy, inclusive teaching practices, and intercultural global pedagogy. The award acknowledges my dedication to fostering belonging, valuing diverse perspectives, and promoting student success through inclusive educational practices.

Faculty Excellence Award

The Faculty Excellence Award is intended to recognize faculty members who have made significant contributions to the university's mission through demonstrated excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service. The award honors both full-time and adjunct faculty whose work exemplifies UVU's commitment to student success and academic excellence.
