Biography
Desiree Gonzalez-Miller, DMA, NCTM
A Mexican-born pianist and educator, boasts a distinguished musical career spanning Mexico, the United States, and Europe. An award-winning pianist, Desiree has earned accolades in prestigious competitions including the Parnassos National Piano Competition in Mexico and the American Protege International Piano Competition at Carnegie Hall. Recognized for her success in teaching, she received the MTNA Mary Sue Harris Studio Fellowship Award, the UMTA Student Teacher of the Year Award, and the University of Utah Piano Area Janet Mann Teaching Excellence Award. She is a champion of Latin American music, and she takes every opportunity to bring awareness to this music. Her research is published in the American Music Teacher and Piano Magazines, and she has presented at numerous state, national, and international conferences. She holds Bachelor and Master degrees in Piano Performance from Brigham Young University and a Doctorate in Musical Arts in Piano Performance with a related field in Musicology from the University of Utah.
