Biography
Hadley primarily uses he/him pronouns.
Hadley is a higher education professional recruiting for graduate programs in the Smith College of Engineering and Technology at Utah Valley University.
He believe that education is the key to a healthy society, and it is within higher education that successful social movements start. It is through education that people understand the structures of power and how different groups, institutions, and systems fit within that structure. Armed with that knowledge, we begin to recognize inequities prevalent in society, and start working through allyship and advocacy to fight these inequities and injustices.
In his work, Hadley has developed a philosophy of education that rests on 2 pillars, Academic Rigor and Social-Cultural Learning. This philosophy requires that students receive the academic education they expect but also grow in their Cultural Intelligence as well. This is done through experiences with people who have different backgrounds coming together to participate at the university. Bringing diversity of thought, diversity of background, and diversity of experience into student experiences can create transformational learning, both academically and socially, creating graduates who have both the academic knowledge and the Cultural Intelligence to be great global citizens.
Hadley holds a Master of Education in Higher Education Leadership and a Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Science, emphasizing Sociology, from Utah Valley University and added to these degrees and experiences with a minor in Gender Studies, focusing on social justice and equity.
