Biography

Getting to know my students lies at the heart of my teaching philosophy. Each individual has a story, a depth, a heart-tickling tale that adds to who they are. By reaching out, listening, learning, teaching, and engaging students in truly meaningful work, I get to know them. As a lecturer in the elementary education department, my responsibility is to provide a safe space for students to collectively construct meaning from events in their education and their lives. Sharing these moments with my students is a joy and an honor. Getting to know my students is the most important thing I can do. I will never know how far my ripple might reach. I want to be that teacher, that person, that friend that gets to know people and ultimately influences others in a positive way. Get to know your students is my daily mantra. I also believe in doing something that I love everyday! Again, I instill this into the future teachers that I\'m teaching. By funneling my energy into what I love and feel passionate about, I maintain the patience and stamina to get through anything! Lastly, I know that I am an inspiring, loving, joyful teacher, wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. I bring peace, freedom, and passion empowering humanity to live, learn, and teach in a world of healing and abundance. This is my life\'s purpose, my philosophy, the underlying motivation to everything I do.
