Biography
John Miller, taught at American Fork H.S for 30 years. In recent years, his marching band has performed in the Fiesta bowl, twice in the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade, twice in the Macy?s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City, a finalist and six times Semi-finalist at the Bands of America National Marching Band Championships, the 2005 Presidential Inaugural Parade in Washington DC and has placed first in the Bands of America Western Regionals 9 times. His Concert Band performed in MfA National Concert Band Festival.
Musical awards include:
Teacher of The Year for the Alpine School District.
Ten citations of Excellence, National Band Association
Outstanding Music Educator Award from the National Federation of High School.

Sorenson Lifetime Achievement in Arts Education
NBA National Blue Ribbon Award for a balanced long-term Band Program
Band Worlds Legion of Honor
Music for All Hall of Fame.
UMEA Hall of Fame
Currently, he serves as the Treasurer for UMEA, Sudler Shield selection panel, UMEA MB Chair/Coordinator, founder, and current director of the Wasatch Winds Symphonic Band and the Wasatch Show Band, Adjunct Faculty at BYU and UVU, and Executive Director of the Wasatch Music Alliance.
He has presented two sessions at the MidWest International Band and Orchestra Clinic. He is also the past Director of the Nauvoo Brass Band for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
