The Presidential Award of Excellence recognizes faculty and staff members with exemplary achievements in advancing Utah Valley University's mission, core values, and daily operations.

Award received for presenting on Enabling Students' Daily Choice of How to Attend Class - this research showed how allowing students flexibility in how they participated in a live class impacted their ability to learn in positive ways. This was recognized as the best presentation of the Accelerate Track it was part of.

In July 2013, UVU piloted a four-week transition program for admitted, low-income, first-time students who tested into developmental math. Students enrolled in an online, self-paced math refresher and a credit-bearing student success course. Participants took Accuplacer before and after the four-week program to see if they could test into a higher math course, eliminating some remedial coursework. In 2014, the program added an English 0990 component, which familiarized students with navigating the processes involved in writing for university-level work. Students successfully completing the course registered for English 1010 during fall semester, again, eliminating remedial coursework.

Award given to professors teaching Live Intercative Classes which recognizes their work in helping students from around the state.

Darren Wiberg and Jon Anderson created and disseminated a new method for factoring polynomials known as Synthetic Factoring, presenting at numerous places and publishing it as part of the Michael E. Sullivan Algebra Text Books.

Awarded best Student Paper in the SPIE Intelligent Robot and Computer Vision Conference
