Luca de la Florin is Instructor of Oboe at Utah Valley University where he works with the oboe studio to build confident, passionate, and musical performers. Oboists gain necessary skills in Reed-Making, Performing, Chamber Music, Ensemble Playing, Teaching, and Exploring Repertoire.
In addition to duties with the Oboe Studio, Florin enjoys classroom teaching at UVU with various courses including Intro to Music and American Popular Music. His passion for all genres of music and diving into their roots and traditions creates a fun and comprehensive environment for students.
Outside of UVU, Florin is an active performer across the country. He holds positions with The Missouri Symphony, Sinfonia Salt Lake, and the Aspen Winds Quintet. Additionally, Florin can often be seen with The Utah Symphony, Utah Chamber Artists, Salt Lake Choral Artists, Salt Lake Symphony, and Chamber Orchestra Ogden. Teachers include Rebecca Van de Ven, Gabriel Renteria, Michael Miller, Robert Stephenson, and Lissa Stolz.
