Dr. Andria Disney is an Associate Professor of Elementary Education. She teaches undergraduate math methods courses and supports student teachers/interns with their teacher assessment project, and she teaches graduate instruction and assessment and instructional coaching courses. Before coming to UVU, Dr. Disney served as an Assistant Professor of Elementary Mathematics Education at Georgia Southern University (2016-2019). Prior to receiving her Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in K-8 Mathematics Education from the University of Montana in 2016, she worked in public schools for 12 years as an elementary teacher, a middle school math teacher, a mathematics curriculum and instructional specialist, and a K-12 instructional coach. Dr. Disney's research interests include supporting pre-service and in-service teachers in making mathematics instructional change, examining how teachers analyze and use student work to inform their teaching, and exploring the intersection of mathematics education and special education.
