I am an Assistant Professor of Nursing at Utah Valley University (UVU). With over three decades of nursing experience, I specialize in trauma and emergency care. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of teaching, managing, and mentoring nurses and nursing students. It’s incredibly rewarding to contribute to their growth and development as future healthcare professionals.

I am honored to have been awarded the Researcher of the Year by the Nu Nu Chapter of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. Sigma Theta Tau, the second-largest nursing organization globally with approximately 135,000 active members, is widely regarded as the most prestigious nursing honor society.
Sigma Theta Tau is an international community of nurses dedicated to advancing knowledge, teaching, learning, and service through the cultivation of communities of practice, education, and research. The Nu Nu Chapter's mission is to develop nurse leaders to improve healthcare everywhere, and their vision is to connect and empower nurse leaders to transform global healthcare.
I was recognized for my podium presentations in Logan, UT, New Orleans, and the upcoming 36th International Nursing Research Congress in Seattle, Washington, in July 2025. Nominated by my peers from the chapter, I also received a cash award of $100.
