Biography

Jeff Schoonover is an experienced K–12 education leader dedicated to building collaborative, equitable, and high-performing school communities. He currently serves as the Administrator of Secondary Schools for Alpine School District, where he supports and supervises school administrators, leads districtwide improvement initiatives, and coordinates leadership development and community partnerships.
Jeff also teaches in the Education Leadership program at Utah Valley University, where he helps aspiring administrators develop skills in collaborative leadership, cultural responsiveness, wellness, and effective school and community culture. His university teaching aligns closely with the Utah Educational Leadership Standards, with a focus on communication and change leadership.
Over his 25-year career, Jeff has served as a secondary principal at both American Fork Junior High and Provo High School, an assistant principal at American Fork High School, and a teacher at Provo High. He has led major reform efforts—including Standards-Referenced Grading and PBIS implementation—and has guided school improvement, professional learning, and community engagement in multiple settings.
Jeff holds an M.Ed. in Administration from Southern Utah University and a B.A. in Education from Brigham Young University. His leadership has been recognized through numerous awards and achievements, including the creation of district leadership training programs, successful grant and fundraising efforts, and community hero recognitions.
