Biography
Juliet Preston holds a Master of Music degree in piano performance from the University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor of Music in piano performance from the University of Utah. She has taught piano at Weber State University, the University of Montana, and Concordia University at Austin. She is a nationally certified teacher of music, adjudicator for state and regional piano competitions, and frequent presenter on pedagogy topics at local and state conferences and will present at the MTNA national conference in March 2022. Ms. Preston has had a long career as a collaborative pianist in classical, musical theater, and commercial music and strives to share her experience with the next generation of pianists as a founding member of the Collaborative Pianists Guild of Utah. As a college instructor, she trains students in classical piano, collaborative piano, pedagogy, musical theater, pop and jazz, church music, songwriting, and composition/arranging. As a performer, her recent concert video of Beethoven's Appassionata can be found on YouTube. She released an original album of Christmas arrangements in 2016, and in 2021 released an album with her rock band Memoryfield (www.memoryfield.net).
