Biography
Like many who pursue a career in student affairs, Marie was drawn to the field due to her experiences as an undergrad at Salt Lake Community College and Utah State University. After graduation, she interned for a year with the staff of the Student Life & Leadership office at SLCC before she took a role as the Coordinator and then Program Director for Student Activities at UVU for ten years. Marie graduated from Gonzaga University in 2017 with a Master's in Communications and Leadership.
In summer 2023 she was appointed as Assistant Director for Learning and Engagement in the Office of Student Leadership and Involvement, overseeing the Reflection Center and interfaith engagement, The Zone, and leadership certification. In spring 2025 she was honored with the Student Affairs Impact Award.
Marie has been an active volunteer for the National Association of Campus Activities since 2015, serving in roles from the Volunteer Development Coordinator and West's Regional Chair to a term on NACA's Employability Skills Assessment Advisory Group and Diversity Advisory Group. In 2018 she was awarded the Margaret Ann "Peggy" Hoffman Outstanding Regional Volunteer Award. Due to her unprecedented fundraising efforts for scholarships in the NACA West Region from 2020-22, she was appointed to the NACA Foundation Board of Trustees in 2023. Marie also served for five years on the Executive Board for the Utah Professionals in Student Involvement and Leadership, including a term as President.
Outside work, Marie is passionate about baking, Survivor, writing, houseplants, Disney Parks, and board games.
