Biography
Lisa Barrager brings more than two decades of experience spanning engineering, business, higher education, project management, and external relations to the Smith College of Engineering & Technology. She earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Brigham Young University, along with an MBA in Product Development . Her career includes experience with Ford Motor Company, where she worked in global strategy and planning and helped lead the launch of the Ford Focus and Super Duty F-Series programs, as well as extensive work in project management, marketing, and business development with ClowardH2O. Most recently, she served in BYU’s College of Engineering as Capstone and External Relations Manager, where she built and maintained relationships with industry partners, recruiting more than 60 projects annually for multidisciplinary engineering students, and taught and mentored students in professional communication, decision-making, project management, and design.
Lisa is passionate about bringing people together and creating opportunities for students, faculty, industry partners, and community members to succeed. Her higher education leadership has included helping plan and build BYU’s new engineering complex, developing programs to support women in engineering and technology, mentoring students, and advising the Society of Women Engineers. She has also served on the Utah State Building Board and the advisory board of the Women Technology Council. Outside of work, Lisa enjoys spending time with family and friends, building meaningful relationships, and staying active and engaged in her community. She is excited to bring her collaborative spirit, practical experience, and enthusiasm for students and innovation to UVU.
