Biography
Bonnie Rodriguez Mortensen is a transformational leader in higher education with over a decade of experience in process optimization, marketing, and strategic growth. As Director of the Office of Online & Graduate Studies, she drives initiatives that expand program offerings, enhance student engagement, and improve operational efficiency. Her tenure at Utah Valley University includes leadership roles as Assistant Dean, Director of Marketing and Communications, Program Developer, Marketing Strategist, and Project Coordinator for the Utah Women & Leadership Project. She also spent seven years at the Woodbury School of Business, advancing academic and student success initiatives.
A Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach, Bonnie is known for fostering strengths-based, high-performing teams and leveraging data-driven strategies to scale online education. Her leadership has earned her multiple awards, including NAWBO Student of the Year, ACT College and Career Readiness Champion, and the Woodbury Dean's Award of Excellence.
A lifelong learner, Bonnie holds a B.S. in Communications and Leadership, a Graduate Certificate in Strategic Leadership and Management, and an M.S. in Management and Leadership. She is an alumna of both the UVSELF 2023 and IELOL 2023 cohorts.
Committed to gratitude research, Bonnie explores its impact on leadership, productivity, and problem-solving. She is also developing somatic-informed resilience frameworks to foster adaptability and well-being in higher education workplaces.
