Mohammad Sherkat Masoum

Biography

Mohammad A.S. Masoum holds the position of Professor and Department Chair/Head within the Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Department at Utah Valley University (UVU) since 2024. Prior to this role, he served as the Program Coordinator for Electrical Engineering from 2018 to 2021, and subsequently as the Department Chair/Head of the Engineering Department from 2021 to 2024 at UVU.

Mohammad is the Founding Department Chair/Head of the ECE Department at UVU and the Founding General Chair of the Annual Intermountain Engineering, Technology, and Computing (i-ETC) Conferences; http_//i-etc.org . He was General Chair of i-ETC 2020, Orem, Utah, USA, General Chair of the Annual Australasian Universities Power Engineering Conference AUPEC 2014, Perth, Western Australia (WA), Chair of the IEEE-PES/PEL WA Chapter, 2013, Vice Chair of the IEEE-PES/PEL WA Chapter, 2011-2012, Vice General Chair of IEEE Innovative Smart Grid Technologies IEEE-ISGT Asia 2011, Perth, WA, and Vice General Chair of AUPEC 2007, Perth, WA.

Mohammad has over thirty years of teaching, research, and industrial experience. He was the Editor-In-Chief of American Journal of Engineering & Science (2012-2014), a Guest Editor of IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics (2017-2018), a Guest Editor of IET Renewable Power Generation (2018-2019), an Editor of Australian Electrical & Electronics Engineering Journal (2012-2018), an Editor of IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid and IEEE Power Engineering Letters (2016-2022). He is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
