Christine Walker

Biography

Dr. Walker has been a member of the Mathematics Department at Utah Valley University (UVU) since 1992. She primarily teaches College Algebra, College Algebra with Preliminaries, Methods of Secondary School Mathematics Teaching, and Algebra for Secondary Mathematics Teaching, and is a supervisor for Secondary Mathematics Student Teachers and Interns.

Currently, she is Co-Pi on the NSF Funded Robert Noyce Teaching Scholarship ($1.2 million) and was the Founder and Editor in Chief (2008-2020), for the Utah Mathematics Teacher, an annual online journal for the Utah Council of Teachers of Mathematics (UCTM). Her current, and ongoing project, is funded through Senate Bill 196, where she has developed and implemented a program for secondary students "Creating equitable access and practices to enroll and support students of color,-and low-income students into CE, particularly QL courses" with a budget of $100,000.
