Biography
Darren Falslev is currently the Chief of Police at the American Fork Police Department. Chief Falslev has over 30 years of law enforcement experience with assignments that include Investigations Division Commander, Utah County Major Crimes, S.W.A.T., and several Administrative assignments. He was awarded the Utah Chief of Police of the Year Award in 2018. The American Fork Police Department was the first law enforcement agency in Utah County to be accredited by the Utah Chief?s Association. Chief Falslev has served on State Advisory Boards at the Utah Capital for Domestic Violence, Youth Court, and Opiate Abuse.
Chief Falslev has been an Adjunct Professor at UVU for over 16 years and a Police Academy Instructor for over 20 years. He is certified as a Drug Recognition Expert Instructor by the International Association of Chiefs of Police. He has a Masters Degree in Public Administration and a second Masters Degree in Criminal Justice. Chief Falslev is a Graduate of the Northwestern School of Police Staff and Command, the FBI Command College, and the West Point Leadership Academy. He frequently teaches classes on organizational behavior, community-policing, and drug and DUI detection. Chief Falslev is a certified trainer with the Arbinger Institute for their Outward Mindset course and is an Instructor with the Harley Davidson Riders Academy.
