Biography

Monika Rosborough-Bowman is a cellist with the Ballet West Orchestra, Orchestra at Temple Square, Cathedral of the Madeleine Players, Utah Lyric Opera, and the Utah Baroque Ensemble. As a freelance musician, she has performed with a variety of professional groups including the Utah Symphony, Utah Chamber Artists, Pioneer Theatre, Sundance Summer Theatre, among others. She is also a regular recording studio cellist. Monika has performed and recorded with a wide variety of artists, such as Andrea Bocelli, Bryn Terfel, Bernadette Peters, Rita Moreno, and many others. She has a Master of Music in Cello Performance and Pedagogy from Brigham Young University and has performed throughout most of Western Europe, with solo recitals in Utah, Switzerland, and her native Italy. Monika has served on the music faculties of Brigham Young University-Provo and BYU-Idaho and has enjoyed coaching and directing several youth music ensembles and festivals throughout Utah. She speaks fluent German and Italian and enjoys performing and recording music with her husband and four children, who are also professional musicians.
