Professor Leo Chang

Biography

Dr. Kuo-Liang (Leo) Chang holds a master’s degree in Applied Mathematics and a PhD in Curriculum, Instruction, and Teacher Education with a focus on Mathematics Education from Michigan State University. He also earned a master’s degree in Philosophy, specializing in the Philosophy of Language, from Fu-Jen Catholic University in Taiwan. Currently, he is a professor in the Department of Mathematical and Quantitative Reasoning at Utah Valley University. His research interests include mathematical thinking and reasoning, problem-solving, and the foundations of mathematics.

This academic innovation award is for the OER project members who devoted in promoting and creating OER materials in the MQR department and the OTL office. The project product includes three OER textbooks and the associated homework tool. This OER project provides free online quality textbooks and low-cost homework tools for more than 2000 UVU students per year.
