Dr. Joy Cole

Biography

Joy Cole is a nurse educator who promotes the ongoing development of the nursing profession and the educational process. Dr. Cole knows that an effective, efficient healthcare system must be championed by educated professionals who are unwavering patient advocates, dedicated knowledge builders, and responsible resource stewards. Dr. Cole embraces the challenge to transform healthcare and works collaboratively with other professionals in clinical, educational, and research venues to accomplish this goal. As a registered nurse, Dr. Cole's experience spans decades and includes direct patient care, education of both undergraduate and graduate level nursing professionals, and service to community members to promote wellness and compassionate inclusion. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Nursing Education from the University of Northern Colorado.

Leadership Recognition

Oklahoma City Community College

The "Leadership Cadre 8" allows selected employees to gain an overall view of the workings of higher education. I completed eight 8-hour sessions and was recognized for the activity.

Research Night_ Best Presentation

University of Northern Colorado

I presented my work on students who use accommodations for testing and my presentation was selected as the best student presentation. Students from the entire university were invited to participate.

STAR Nurse Excellence Award

This award recognized my overall capacity as a nurse leader based on national certifications, education, service, and reviews from both supervisors and patients.
