Biography

For many years, I have aided UVU students in their acquisition of French and their introduction to various cultures where French is spoken. The environment at UVU encourages engagement and fosters curiosity and commitment to learning that can extend well beyond the boundaries of a college education. It has been an immense personal joy to be involved in this process with the unique students of UVU. Many become passionate about French and appreciate the richness this knowledge brings to their life.

I learned French, like most UVU students, in high school (in North Carolina). I went on to attend BYU in Provo and after taking a few semesters of French had a year-and-a-half immersive experience as a religious missionary in Belgium and France. Upon returning, I continued to learn French at the university and had an internship in Geneva, Switzerland.

I have a BA and MA in French Studies. My interests led me to an emphasis of 20th-century literature and cinema.

My dream dinner would be a lovely French meal spent in the company of Guillaume Apollinaire, Montaigne, and Agnes Varda.
