Professor Jonathan Rudd

Biography

Professor Jonathan L. Rudd retired from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in 2018. During his 21-year career as a special agent and legal advisor with the FBI, he conducted both criminal and national security investigations. Along with domestic assignments in New York, Virginia, Colorado and Utah, he has extensive international experience having represented the FBI in New Zealand, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macau, Hungary, Korea, and Japan. Professor Rudd taught Constitutional Law, Criminal Law and Procedure, National Security Law, Privacy Rights, Civil Liberties and Ethics at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia, where he obtained Adjunct Professor status with the University of Virginia. He graduated with a Juris Doctor degree in 1996 from the New England School of Law, Boston, Massachusetts and from Brigham Young University, Provo, Utah, with a Bachelor of Arts in Asian Studies and a Minor in Korean in 1992. He is a member of the US Supreme Court Bar and the Utah State Bar. Professor Rudd has been trained in Peer Support for First Responders, as an Emergency Medical Responder, and as a certified Life Coach.
