Doug Gardner has an Associate's Degree from Ricks College (BYU-Idaho) in Psychology, Bachelor's Degree from BYU-Provo in Human Development, Master's Degree from California State University, Bakersfield in Educational Administration, and a Doctorate of Philosophy from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in Educational, Organization, and Leadership-Higher Education Emphasis. Doug teaches Career and Major Exploration in a traditional classroom setting since August 2008 and occasionally teaches online classes. He teaches the capstone (UVST 4930-WE) Writing Enriched Course for the UVST bachelors degree and is the Faculty Director for the UVST Degree. He is the Lead Faculty for Major and Career Exploration (SLSS 2100-Face-to-Face). He is the Chair of the For the Love of Reading Conference and a Principal Investigator for Read-A-Difference. The process of deciding on a career is a great adventure as the career decision-making process is not a one-time event but something you do over and over again as you learn more. Doug is the husband to one (Andrea) and father to four_ Spencer, Ashleigh, Amelia, and Alaina.
