Courtney Davis

Biography

Courtney Davis serves as Dean of the School of the Arts at Utah Valley University, where she also and teaches courses in art history and arts management for the Department of Art & Design. As Dean, Davis promotes excellence in the visual and performing arts through academic programs as well as community-engaged arts programming and events. Key initiatives include expanding high impact educational practices, supporting a powerful and inspiring performing arts and exhibition season, and helping to facilitate the reopening of the UVU Museum of Art at the newly renovated Lakemount Manor. Prior to her current position, Courtney Davis served as chair of the Department of Art & Design at UVU. She holds a Juris Doctor from the J. Ruben Clark Law School as well as degrees in Art History & Curatorial Studies from Brigham Young University. She enjoys melding her dual passions of art history and the law in her research, which focuses largely on copyright in the visual arts. Prior to joining UVU, Courtney Davis worked as an associate attorney at the law firm Hill, Johnson & Schmutz.
