Awards

Utah Business Healthcare Heroes Award October 2023

Utah Business - October 11, 2023

Utah Business in conjunction with Roseman University of Health Sciences honored those who have made it their mission to improve health within the state of Utah during a ceremony held 24 October 2023.

I was honored to be selected as one of Utah's Healthcare Heroes, nominated by Cheryl Hanewicz, Dean of the UVU College of Health and Public Service. I represented Utah in the Healthcare Educator category and shed light on UVU's mission and the students who graduate from our nursing program who go on to serve our communities. Taking part in their education is a rewarding experience for me.

UVU Faculty Senate - April, 2023

The purpose of the Faculty Senate Faculty Excellence Award is to recognize faculty who have made significant contributions to UVU's mission through demonstrated excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service. This was an honor for me to receive recognition for excellence in my interactions with students, faculty, and the UVU community.

Dean's Faculty Excellence Award Spring 2022

UVU College of Health and Public Service - April 15, 2022

I was nominated by my Nursing Department peers and selected by the College of Health and Public Service for the Dean's Faculty Excellence Award.

Teaching Impact During COVID-19 - Acknowledgment

UVU Academic Affairs - November 9, 2020

During the early days of the pandemic, I taught classes in new ways, anxious to meet the learning needs of the students. Additionally, I administered the undergraduate programs as the Program Coordinator during this time. This letter from Dr. Vaught acknowledges students' comments noting the effort it took to run the nursing program while under pandemic conditions. Although I feel this was part of my job as a faculty member, having this acknowledgement from those in leadership was meaningful to me.

UVU Going the Extra Mile Award - Internship and Career Development Award

UVU Internship and Career Development - September, 2018

I received this award because of the support I have provided since 2014 connecting fourth semester ASN students and employers during the Nursing Department Employer Fair each semester. I first started this event as faculty teaching NURS 3400 and then as the Program Coordinator from 2016. I worked closely with Janalee Carter in the Career Development Center, so employers had access to our students during hiring events. I initially set this up myself and then partnered with the CDC who now administers these events. Each semester 80-96 students attend and connect with ~16 employers.
