Biography

I worked full-tine as a firefighter/paramedic for Unified Fire Authority for 26 years. Prior to getting hired full-time I worked part-time as a firefighter/EMT for South Davis Fire District. After retiring from Unified Fire Authority I spent 1 year working for ICON as a Medical Research Associate where I participated in Phase 1 Clinical trial research for pharmaceutical companies. After that year I returned to Unified Fire Authority part-time as a paramedic.

During my career at Unified Fire Authority I had the opportunity to precept paramedic students and new employees, coordinate EMT and AEMT classes, participate is skills testing for new employees, help teach UFA's Advanced Airway Academy and other EMS related classes. I spent 2 years working as a Community Outreach Coordinator responsible for teaching Active Shooter Preparedness classes to businesses, school districts, police agencies and other government agencies. I was also able to work as an evaluator for full-scale active shooter training exercises. During the last year and a half of my full-time career at Unified Fire Authority I held the position of Medical Training Specialist responsible for providing medical training to 550 full and part-time employees.

Prior to getting hired full-time at UVU in August 2024 I worked part-time as an adjunct instructor teaching EMT, AEMT and Paramedic classes. I was also the Course Coordinator for EMT and AEMT classes.

I am currently applying to Masters programs to become a mental health therapist.
