Biography
Dr. Carmen Wolthuis Hall, a professional pianist, performs regularly as a soloist and a chamber music artist. As a speaker, she has presented as a keynote guest, conference artist, and spoken at state and national conferences. She is a music teacher in her private studio as well as a faculty member at Utah Valley University. She holds a doctoral degree in Piano Performance from The University of Utah.
Dr. Carmen Hall recently returned to perform with the Timpanogos Symphony Orchestra in April 2023, playing Gershwin?s Concerto in F. She has also performed with the Salt Lake City Symphony, Brigham Young University Philharmonic, and the Emerald Chamber Orchestra. Carmen also performs regularly in the Timpanogos Chamber Music Series.
Dr. Hall founded Young Pianists International to give students international opportunities to share cultural experiences and performances with students in other countries. This year, her students will travel to Rome, Italy, and Ghana, Africa.
Carmen and her husband, Bruce, have three sons. Like her sons, Carmen enjoys sports including cycling and running. She has completed five marathons including the Boston Marathon.
