Biography
Candace received her BFA in Ballet with Honors from Utah Valley University in 2012. She attended UVU on a full-tuition scholarship. While at UVU, she completed a senior thesis that explored different aspects of collegiate dance training and proposed possible improvements in current training. She also danced with UVU’s Repertory Ballet Ensemble.
Candace has taught in after-school programs, at Pioneer High School for the Performing Arts, and has done guest choreography, adjudication, and teaching for local companies and public schools. She was also a finalist in Utah Metropolitan Ballet’s Choreography Design Competition. Candace is certified in Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) and loves continuing to learn more about dance and pedagogy - always wanting to improve as a teacher. She is the author of "Be the Dance Teacher They Remember" - a book written for dance teachers. Candace and her husband Chandler have four children.
