Monumental France
Immerse yourself in the vibrant world of French language and culture while living in Paris and studying at a native-taught language school on weekday mornings. In addition to your immersive language experience, you'll be enrolled in two UVU courses designed to deepen your understanding of French culture and identity. One course focuses on the meaning and purpose of monuments—how they shape memory, history, and national identity—using the city of Paris as your living classroom. The other enhances your language and cultural proficiency through dynamic real-world application.
You'll stay with welcoming host families—an ideal way to experience daily life à la française and practice your French in an authentic setting.
For those eager to explore beyond Paris, two optional excursions (not included in the program fee) offer the chance to discover the royal castles of Blois and Chambord in the Loire Valley, as well as the breathtaking cathedral of Chartres.
*Student must take both of these courses. Both courses can be counted toward the minor in French.
