International Internships

Short and long-term opportunities to intern abroad

International Internships

Begin the international internship application process at least six weeks prior to departure.  Starting earlier than this will also increase your chances of ensuring all requirements are completed prior to departure for your internship.

STEP 1

Wait for travel approval from The Office of Education Abroad before moving forward with next steps.

STEP 2

Once you receive approval from The Office of Education Abroad, please follow the next steps.

  • Meet with your internship coordinator. Make an appointment here.
  • Complete the Internship Orientation from UVU’s Career and Internship Center
  • Wait for approval from UVU Internship Services.
  • Apply and register for academic credit with your internship coordinator.

STEP 3

  • Complete the Office of Education Abroad’s pre-departure orientation.
  • Pay for International Health and Evacuation Insurance – This is required for all individuals going abroad on UVU business. The Office of Education Abroad will process this insurance for you and will give you the information on how to pay for it.

The Office of Education Abroad registers UVU student international travel via this process, but does not coordinate travel logistics, visa support, accommodations and room/board, or internship work experiences abroad.

Internship credit is granted by UVU colleges and departments, but travel arrangements are the responsibility of the student in consultation with their internship provider or company.
