The First Steps Mentoring Program is designed to connect first-generation college students with UVU faculty and staff who provide academic, professional, and personal support to help you thrive.
This application is currently closed and will open on March 1, 2026.
Through regular guidance and meaningful connections, mentors will support you in setting and achieving goals, navigating campus resources, and fostering a strong sense of belonging in the UVU community.
Participants receive a $2,000 scholarship for the academic year, with $1,000 awarded for fall and spring semesters upon acceptance into the program.
